Did geopolitics start a civil war in Sudan ?

On April 15, violent conflict erupted between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the country’s Rapid Support Forces (RSF), which include the special forces. Explosions were reported in the capital, Khartoum, and the armed forces headquarters were destroyed by shelling. Within days, foreign nationals were evacuated from the country of 46 million. Fighting has now spread throughout the country, and several ceasefire attempts brokered by Saudi Arabia and Egypt have failed to hold. At least 400 people were reported killed in the first week of fighting.
